JOY

Jump and tumble, play while you can,

Over the meadows, run as fast as you can,

Years go by, life is too short, so make the most out of it, before your time is o'er.

:-)

Yes,  yes, you're guessing right! I am Joy from the wacky class of Garnet 08!!! Yeah! Rock On! For the past few days, I, together with my classmates, have been studying about POETRY. Obviously, we do it during English class with Sr. Ayende. Like what Agnetha said, poetry is better than studying grammar. Grammar is easy to learn and study unlike poetry, but poetry is fun to do. Our introduction to this matter is Peter Weir's "Dead Poets Society". It's an excellent movie, I must say, and interesting too. But, I didn't get to see the ending. Oh well, I just read the scripts I found in the internet. :-) Bad, bad me.

"Whom the Gods love, die young." - Byron

THE PEACEFUL SKY

My brother coughed and coughed, bed-ridden but hopeful,

Sick and depressed was he,

Longing for the sun to shine upon him.

Outside, the clouds and the wind danced, graceful were they,

While the sun shone brightly on his face,

Revealing those deep creases on his wrinkled face.

And then, his head dropped, fast asleep was he.

He was calm as an angel, peaceful as the sky,

With no life within him, he was cold, yet the sun was was shining brightly, outside, in the peaceful sky.

This poem was written, again, last September 20, 2004. You see? I was so inspired that day. Hmm.. I wonder why.

Anyway, this poem was a little sad and encouraging for me. Because it talked about defeat. Life was defeated. But it was also encouraging for me because, in every defeat, there will always be light and warmth that will welcome us back.
