JOY Jump and tumble, play while you can, Over the meadows, run as fast as you can, Years go by, life is too short, so make the most out of it, before your time is o'er. :-) Yes, yes, you're guessing right! I am Joy from the wacky class of Garnet 08!!! Yeah! Rock On! For the past few days, I, together with my classmates, have been studying about POETRY. Obviously, we do it during English class with Sr. Ayende. Like what Agnetha said, poetry is better than studying grammar. Grammar is easy to learn and study unlike poetry, but poetry is fun to do. Our introduction to this matter is Peter Weir's "Dead Poets Society". It's an excellent movie, I must say, and interesting too. But, I didn't get to see the ending. Oh well, I just read the scripts I found in the internet. :-) Bad, bad me. |
"Now hatred is by far the longest pleasure; Men love in haste but detest in leisure." - Lord Byron REGRET As if reaching for something, I reached out, I stretched my hand with no doubt, For I know, I will hold on to something, Whatever nature might bring.
Yes, I reached out and entered something, A place with doors surrounding it, On a door, I see LOVE and TRUST, On the others, HATRED, GREED and LUST.
But curious as I was, I entered HATRED, With a noise I can't withstand, that was where I was led. I see guns, knives, even bombs, Torture, torments and killings done.
Let me escape, let me runaway, I don't want to see this even for a day, Yet they wouldn't let me, I must find a way, To leave through this living hell's gate.
Then I walked through the path they made for me, I was forced to kill, lie and steal. Then with my brother's blood on my body, I leave this living hell in glory.
Leaving was I from the atmosphere of HATRED, I thought that was the end of blood on my breath. But no, it wasn't, I am still facing this door, In front of me is the door of REGRET. |
'Regret' was written last
September 23, 2004 when I was thinking about heaven and hell.
This poem has a very simple message, 'For every thing done, there is always a consequence'. Read the other poems: It's
